Solana Beach, CA – July 28, 2025 – AEVEX’s Navigation and Autonomy Team (NAC) recently participated in the Stiletto Maritime Demonstration on Chesapeake Bay off Virginia Beach, VA. The demonstration, co-sponsored by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) and the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research & Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), included stakeholders from the Navy, Army, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.
The Stiletto program enables the DoD and their interagency partners to evaluate emerging technologies, foster collaboration, and provide industry developers real-time feedback to accelerate capability maturation for defense-wide applications. The 2025 event focused on Assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (APNT) systems designed to augment or replace traditional GPS for combat systems, including Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs), operating in GPS-contested environments.
AEVEX successfully demonstrated its Geo-APNT, a state-of-the-art, MOSA-based APNT architecture that integrates a high-accuracy GNSS-enabled inertial measurement unit (IMU) with a high-stability time and frequency reference in a ruggedized, compact unit.
Equipped with a Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna (CRPA) for anti-jam/anti-spoof resilience, Geo-APNT delivered precise, continuous position, navigation, and timing through prolonged GPS jamming, spoofing, and denial and ensured uninterrupted communications, navigation, and weapon system employment for its host platforms in highly contested environments.
Josh Burke, a senior systems engineer at AEVEX, commented: “AEVEX was proud to showcase our Assured PNT AJ/AS technologies at the Stiletto event. While obviously pleased with the successful performance of our equipment, we always appreciate these unique opportunities for direct warfighter feedback to help us continuously refine our solutions.”
